I have not seen this posted. I thought it might be of interest. Enerdel has announced confirmation by a U.S. government laboratory of the engery, power and efficiency, as well as thermal performance, of the company's lithium-ion automotive battery system. Enerdel was able to achieve 77.41 mpg over a federal urban drive cycle. The battery did not over heat. It is smaller, cost less, and produces approximately twice as much power (90 kw) as a NIMH system of equivalent size and weigh. The test was done in a Toyota Prius. Please note the test was in charge depleting mode, so it was like a very mild PHEV (ie grid charged for the first several miles).
