Just got the following e-mail from a local Toyota dealer: Towne Toyota Corporate Program Employee Pricing to the Public! For the first time in history you can buy a brand new Toyota and pay what our employees pay. Due to the recent success other manufacturers have had offering their EMPLOYEE PRICE TO THE PUBLIC, our corporate division has ordered Towne Toyota to offer our own employee price for a limited time only! EMPLOYEE DISCOUNTS combined with other incentives including CASH REBATES will give you unprecedented savings on a new Toyota during this event. This offer is valid on every new Toyota in stock, nothing will be held back. Simply visit your local authorized dealer, Towne Toyota in Ledgewood, and bring this letter, which entitles you to purchase one new vehicle at TOWNE TOYOTA EMPLOYEE PRICING during this limited time test market event from July 15, 2005 until July 23, 2005. Your local authorized dealer is: Towne Toyota 1499 Route 46 West Ledgewood, NJ 07852
bet they're limiting that on prii and scions... had we wanted anything else, we would have gotten it from the dealer where my husband works for $100 over invoice. but they were (and still are) limiting it to vehicles that aren't in short supply/high demand. so we paid msrp with no hassles and no sale add-ons instead. damn.
Think it applies to all cars--- it said: "This offer is valid on every new Toyota in stock, nothing will be held back" I guess if they don't have any in stock that is another story, but I know they have a few in stock as they had them listed in Sunday's paper - well I guess they could have sold by now.
well if you think that this news will cause me to feel even the slightest tinge of regret over my full MSRP purchase, you completely totally unequivocally wrong
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(kirbinster\";p=\"108369)</div> Note it says..."in stock"... how many Prii have they in stock?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(narf\";p=\"108388)</div> Good point. Although this is a cool deal, and just about every Toyota made is very likely worth it, it's very easy for a dealer to use the language "in stock" to make the deal not apply to any car they don't want it to apply to. Just say any car sitting on the lot is already spoken for. Or make sure that if you don't have an active buyer for a Prius, don't take delivery on any Prius. So I commend the dealer for this, but I think it would take some pretty great luck and coincidence to get it to apply to a Prius.
When I worked at a Toyota Dealership there was no discount for employees. Negotiate like everyone else. Nate
