Anyone else having trouble with the charge time taking awhile? We've had the car about a month, but only recently began taking it to work and taking it out more frequently. I have it plugged into my garage outlet at home when there and at a chargepoint station at work. It is taking WAY longer than 3 hours to fully charge. More like 6-7 hours. Seems the same no matter whether plugging in at work or at home. Is there a problem with our vehicle? Is there a setting I should be changing? A break-in period? Just wondering if I should take it in for service or I got a lemon or something.

definitely shouldn't take more that 3 hours. is home a dedicated circuit? can't understand the chargepoint problem. does the charge light inside the plug cover on the car come on when you plug it into the car?

I've had mine for 2.5 months and the longest charge time I've had, plugged into a 110 outlet, was 2.5 hours. Something seems off at 6-7 hours.

When plugged in and charging if you push the Power button twice without your foot on the brake what does it indicate the "charging power" is? Should be .9-1.1KWH on 110v and ~1.9kwh on level 2. Mine takes ~2.5hrs from empty to full on 110v. If the vehicle takes that long on different outlets/circuits, especially even on level 2 (chargepoint) then there is likely an issue with the on-board charger. If it only happens on 110v on various circuits I'd suspect an issue with your Toyota supplied EVSE cable.

Check your Chargepoint stats, see if it's showing about 3kwh, also check to see if the amber led lights (located at Plug In port) when charging. I have had my charging not start (amber led not lit, chargepoint not charging, still in plugged in status) I simply disconnected the plug, closed the plug in port door, started car, then turned car off, reinserted plug, restarted charging session.

Your Dealer should have a Level 2 220v charger.
Have them test with it and with your 110 vac cable.

Must be a dedicated circuit. If you are using something else on that 110/120 circuit, it will take longer to charge.

not true, if something else is on that circuit then the fuse or breaker will blow if it exceeds the rated amperage.
