After switching to my Prius and it not having much bass, I want to add an 8" sub with a 500 watt amp. I already have the sub / amp im just curious if Prius's can handle the juice being used to produce the bass. Or would it completely drain my battery in a couple months? I remember hearing / seeing something about a high output alternator but im not to familiar with stereo specifications. If anyone has any input on stereo mods / subs feel free to chip in! Any information helps, thank you!
welcome! iirc, it will kill your 12v. prius is only a maintainer, not really a charger. there is no alternator, the hybrid battery charges the 12v through the inverter/converter. i have sen people add a second 12v. try searching here, google and youtube. all the best!
