Plenty of tornado reports from a storm headed right towards us: Hearing thunder, no wind, yet. Bob Wilson
Nice drone avatar. One doesn't always need a cellar per se, just a basement worked for us in KS. But since Bob seems to be a twister vet from OK, I bet he's prepared.
The tornado shear followed the Tennessee River. Funny thing about tornados, they really like water followed by trailer parks. Everything passed and I'll pickup the down limbs when the sun comes up. Bob Wilson
But that's only after you walk out front to see it it's on your street or not. Then you decide to either BBQ or duck and cover. For the non tornado alley folks, I'm kidding . . . sort of.
I had too much aversion to hail damage to get into it. I imagine it would be pretty addicting though. Hard to do it safely these days. Too many storm tourists and crazies. Even the real chasers say it's hard to do it safely now due to the crowds.
When we first moved to Huntsville, my wife was very curious about tornadoes. Then one went through Airport Road and two days later, she saw the damage. Since then, no further interest especially when she learned about night tornadoes. Bob Wilson
Not any longer. I gave the 2 kW, 12V inverter away a couple of months ago. It sat idle since 2016 after we got the 16 kW, Generac automatic system put in. I got tired of seeing it gather dust. Bob Wilson
maybe they only like a 'little' water. After all - as soon as they reach BIG water / great lakes ... poof. .
"Warm" water seems to attract it. For example, Stillwater creek runs across the road from Grandmother Adam's place where Mom and her sibling grew up. But it seems any tornado headed towards or around Stillwater preferred to follow the creek and pretty well trash the trees. As my late Uncle John once said,"A tornado doesn't just blow stuff around. It picks everything up and trashes it into the ground." Bob Wilson
