My 2010 with 120k miles started making rattling sounds 3 days ago. It's the heat shield. How urgent is it to have it repaired, replaced, or preferably removed and ignored? I never park on anything remotely grassy or flammable.
Isn't the heat shield protecting the car body? Not sure. I'd have a look, would suspect there's one or more fastener missing, or if you're lucking just dislodged, and or the heat shield hole has torn. In the latter case an oversized washer might solve the problem. If fasteners are missing, I'd make sure to get the correct ones through a parts department.
