Just got a call from a cousin of mine whose mother has a 2007 like mine. She managed to loose both fobs. The dealer told her it would be $3500 to replace. I checked the old threads, and saw back in 2005 someone confirmed that price, as the ECU had to be replaced. Is that still true on the 2007's? If it is, I think I'll get a 3rd fob & put it in the safe deposit box! And before I get any wise comments, it's NOT my car - I keep 1 in my pocket & my wife has the other!!!!
this thread will help you out. it can be done without replacing the entire ecu good luck! http://priuschat.com/forums/care-ma...21501-end-don-t-lose-your-keys-else-myth.html
Back in the dinosaur days of 2004, our ECU went flakey. I thought it was the fob, all along. By the time I got around to taking care of it it was probably '05. The dealer replaced the ECU AND one fob, so I guess i'll never know what it was ... either way, the bill was in the 1,000's so someone stuck it to somebody
