So we’ve stupidly lost all our keys to our 2004 Prius, VIN number starting with JTDKB(Gen 2 - No smart access) I managed to buy some second hand key fobs. From what I can see in these forums my steps are: 1) Buy Mini VCI cable and install Techstream 2) Hook up computer to car and use techstream to generate 96 hex code which I use to get a reseed code? the end of the "don't lose your keys or else" myth | PriusChat 3) Then reset ECU and erase current fob keys. My questions are: - How do I get the reseed code? Can someone on this forum help me with that? - How do I erase the second hand fob keys, will they be erased when I reprogram? - Could this process cause major damage to the computer unit in the car? - Not sure if my car is imported from JAP, will that make a difference? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much, ill give that a go but currently: I've bought the cable and installed techsteam v13-00-022 but I get the unable to connect to VIM error. My steps were: 1.Connect OB2 cable 2. turn on laptop 3. open techstream 4. clicked connect to vehicle is this correct?
On eBay they sometimes sell the computers with key for like $100-$150 and if you swap it all over the car will start. Just won't have a key for the door to unlock/lock manually. Or can call a junkyard to see if they have. 07 2007 TOYOTA PRIUS ENGINE CONTROL COMPUTER, IGNITION KEY PORT, FOB, SMART KEY | eBay
