It just says visit the dealer in the manual, I guess it's because the lower lights are LED and are part of the lamp unit.
Me too, do I have to completely remove the rear bumper cover to get at the lower phillips screw on the tail light?
I actually had mine done at a local collision / body shop. They billed me .9 hours, like $43 bucks. Had to pull the bumper and put it back on. No other problems with having them do it.
That’s the procedure in the Repair Manual (more info). As @kithmo mentions, the assembly uses LEDs, so I assume convenient access wasn’t a priority.
Hey UCLA, wondering if you want to remove the lover tail light assembly to repair, or if you want to modify the tail light. Personally I do not like the ‘mark of Zorro’ vertical squiggle, and have considered modifying it.
