This is too good to not share. I'm only the messenger, I didn't write this. It arrived in my Inbox from my GMSV (Good Morning Silicon Valley) subscription: Other gems: http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/st...2006031,00.html
We seem to have been convinced that the car we choose "says something" about us. I'm sure we can be duped into thinking the same for cell phones and computers.
Looks some of us like to be different-hence the need to drive Hybrids. Some of us have to be the same-hence the PC's that are in the office. And some of us just want to have computers that work most of the time-hence why we use Apples.
I can see why other prius drivers would like others to drive priuses. We think it helps the environment. On the other hand Mac has no collective benefit. So there is no legitimate reason why a mac user would want a pc user to switch other than to validate their own choice(or perhaps to boost their stock if they own apple shares). Do mac users really care if a pc user has an easy time using a computer or not?

Now they are becoming the present. The majority will eventually own one. Once the tax-credits and driving-stickers expire, they would have grown so common the thought of them being different would be silly. Look at it this way, how can Prius be different if they are all over the place?
