I have a 2019 Prius Prime that is coming up on 25,000 miles. I am thinking of changing the transaxle fluid to get out any metal shavings from the break-in period. Does anyone know if the stock drain plug has a neodymium magnet embedded in it to catch steel shavings, or if not, is there an aftermarket drain plug that has this feature? I've seen lots of aftermarket magnetic oil drain plugs for the Prius ICE, but not one that said specifically that it fit the Prius transaxle. Also, if any of you with a Prius Prime did an "early" transaxle oil change (at 30K or less miles), did you see significant darkening and degradation of the fluid you drained out?
I made my own by boring out the center of the original plug and epoxied a neodymium magnet to it. These would also work; crid=2158SIB6YVGPG&keywords=m18x1.5+magnetic+drain+plug&qid=1642650150&sprefix=m18x1.5+%2Caps%2C168&sr=8-11
