I'm coming up to the 5000 mile service which is essentially nothing more than a oil and filter change. I do oil changes myself. I see the icon only presents itself at start up and then goes out after about 15 seconds. Will this light stop showing itself at around 5100-5200 miles or do I need to take to a Toyota dealer to have the light reset? $$$$$
    Thanks

This starts up at 4500 miles (simply blinking at startup) to constant by 5000 miles. To reset you:

1 - set the Odometer on ODO - not trip
    2 - Shut down
3 - Restart while holding in the ODO button and wait till the display stops changing

This will come on again 4500 miles AFTER you reset.

I think this is in the manual.

    Definitly in the manual.

I think this is something you can take the car into the dealer for. I think they charge for a full hour's work - longer if you leave it overnight. But sure enough, when you pick it up they'll have taken care of that pesky light. They might also try to sell you a manual, but I'd resist the urge. It's just easier to take it to them for service.
