Okay, either I'm misunderstanding the manual or my Prius is playing a game with me. Either way, I'm stumped. I recently got my first oil change, so I figured I'd check out the maintenance menu in the nav system. My question is, what mileage numbers do I plug into the "oil change" menu? Do you put in the mileage that should be achieved before the next oil change (eg 9,456), or the number of miles you would drive before the next oil change (eg 5,000), or the mileage as of your last oil change (eg 4,456)? Same question with the date. Do you input the date of your last oil change, or the date when you should change it next? I know, I'm probably making this tougher than it really is!
For mileage, you should put in how many miles from now that you want the reminder to go off. For the date, put in when you want the reminder to go off. Whichever of the two occurs first will trigger the reminder.
FWIW, I entered the mileage at the oil change. Be aware you can't enter it for a date earlier than the current day for some strange reason, so remember to enter it the day you actually change the oil.
As you drive, if you revisit the oil change reminder, it will show you miles to go before it kicks off. Also for the reminders to work, the NAV has to be enabled. In other words, you have to have pressed I Agree on the disclaimer screen for that trip.
