Master Warning Light and Sybrid System Warning Light after bearing and CV shaft replacement.

    Hi All-

    After finding directions on this great site I just completed the replacement of both front wheel bearings and the left CV shaft. I was sure to unplug the 12v battery to avoid break light issues and I was careful with the sensors on the wheels. The car sat for about 10 days jacked up and unplugged while I waited for parts. Today I finished it up.

    After plugging the 12v battery back in I went to start the car. All the dash lights were on! oops, I forgot to plug the inverter back in. (I had started to follow directions for refilling the transaxle which specified removing the inverter, then realized I could access the fill plug without removing the inverter). I plugged the inverter back in and gave it another go. Now I only have the Master Warning Light and the Hybrid System Warning Light on.

    I restarted the car 5 or 6 times and they do not go away. I can drive it, but I have not for more then a few feet.

    I read the codes, then cleared them and still have the lights. The codes have not returned.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    1. Disconnect the 12V battery negative cable where it bolts to the body for five minutes, then reconnect.

    2. While waiting five minutes, if you had removed the orange traction battery interlock switch, make sure that you slide the switch to lock it, after you have rotated the lever 90 degrees.

    3. See if the warning lights remain on after the 12V battery is reconnected and you attempt to make the car READY. If no, then you are done. If yes, attempt to read the logged DTC.

    4. If you can retrieve the DTC, post them. If you cannot then I suggest it is time to visit your local Toyota dealer. Good luck.

    Problem solved after disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes. THANKS!!!
