During my Sunglass holder DIY post, the subject of a smart phone holders came up. I'd stated that I would post if I ever find one that works for me. Picked this up from Amazon ($13 shipped, w/ orders over $25). Only problem is that it occupies 1 cup holder. In the C One:
looks great and price is right. Think it would fit a Galaxy 3? is it easy to remove when the cupholder is needed for cups? Thanks!
It's quite easy to remove. There is a knob at the base that turns to expand it to fit. As for a Galaxy, someone stated it worked with an S3 in the Amazon reviews.
I lose the gps signal when my phone is in the cupholder. I sometimes lose the bluetooth connection down there. Do you have these issues or is it just me?
not sure about the holder, but blutooth range is great. people in the rear seats are able to connect their phones without a problem
The cup holder is a great idea, but I wanted to share this one. After trying several holders, this one from Proclip has by far surpassed my expectations.
@ Alilzad How are you running your sync cable? The pic doesn't seem like you are letting it dangle; also do you notice that it obstructs your ability to see any of the displays or vehicle info? Thanks,
Delta Flyer II, If you look to the right of the phone, you can see I am running the cable using velcro and some black felt. I basically "sandwiched" the cable between the velcro and the felt. Since the photo, I have cleaned it up even more by using a nicer single piece of velcro/felt; this actually works pretty well. Then, were the dash curves down, I use one more strip to guide the cable down the edge of were the dash pieces meet. From there, I have simply plugged the cable into the USB port, neatly tucked the extra cable under the cable guide, and just keep it plugged in all the time. Every time I get in, I snap my phone into the holder and it connects to the car and it charges. Just make sure you use your phones original cable. I bought an aftermarket cable from Amazon, and it would not work in the car. I now use the aftermarket cable to charge my phone in the house and connect it to my computer. As for visibility, zero issues. I have the holder lined up in the middle of the two vents and I have it set up in it's "tall" position to keep it out of the way of my display. For me it's within perfect reach, with perfect angle, and perfect height. I couldn't be happier. In fact, ProClip is offering 15% off today till midnight. The code they emailed me is SAVE15.
This particular one is made specifically for an iPhone, but ProClip makes holders for just about everything.
