I have seen a couple of folks mention that they knew more than their salesperson about their new car. Rick J said that the training gets to the showroom late. How about the back of the house? Are the service technicians generally (dangerous word) up to speed with the new models? And exactly how do the salespeople fall through the cracks? If so many people here have read up on the car and know the ins and outs and hold down non-car-related jobs, why the heck wouldn't a salesperson spend time boning up on the new models? The info is out there. I realize that there are about 20 current Toyota models, but you can fake most of them.
in order to keep their certification status, techs have a certain time frame to complete the training modules for new models. otherwise, they lose their certification. what happens then? no idea, nobody DH knew was ever dumb enough to let theirs lapse...
I wouldn't agrue with a Toyota HSD Certified Technician. lol I'll agrue with salespersons all day long though.
