How's it working? A neighbor saw me using mine a couple days ago and is now considering buying one for her very rotund pooch.

We gave up and returned it. Watched a few videos on introducing your dog to a ramp, tried some of it, finally threw in the towel. We’re “parachute” owners of a Shiba Inu, not experienced with previous dog ownership.

Sounds like you’ve been more successful?

My 90+ pounds each Golden Retrievers are the dogs that use the ramp. They don't like the ramp.

Part of the issue may be the subaru outback with 8.7" of ground clearance makes for a steep pitch. I can, and sometimes do lift them in and out despite doctor's orders not to lift that much. ##SHRUG## am actually more concerned with them jumping out, which presents some problems, including sharp gravel landings.

The smaller dogs...50 pounds...just leap in and out.

While the Goldens will leap out, they will NOT leap in.

Really had no issues training them to use the ramp. It only took a few minutes, but they are incredibly smart and eager to please.

Anyway, 98 percent of the time they "ramp it" for entry and exit.

And, many years ago had a 120-pound Rottweiler. As she aged, could not leap into cars anymore.

She was stubborn and not the smartest of dogs, but trained her on ramp use. Took a fair amount of effort, but she did learn.
