Any ideas what could cause the following and how to fix it?

MFD on 2007 Prius stopped responding to touch. I replaced the touch screen digitizer with a part bought online and by watching you tube videos. When I powered up the car the MFD still didn’t respond to touch. However, after I drove it some miles (5-10 miles) it started responding to touch and worked perfectly.

Once it is working, if I turn off the car and restart it after being stopped only a while—like while I’m in the grocery store or at work for just a few hours—the MFD responds to touch immediately. If it sits overnight, when I start it in the morning it doesn’t respond to touch again. Once I drive it a few miles it responds to touch again.

    Any ideas?

For others working on their MFD: the digitizer sold by GZTAUTO on Amazon is the one that is currently working (after driving a bit) in my 2007 Prius. It also has the adhesive already on it which made it quicker to install than ones without tape. It is also brighter than another one I tried that did not work for me. The digitizer sold by NewYall on amazon did not work after I installed it and never started working after driving many miles. It also made the display more dim. It also did not come with adhesive which made it take longer to install.

That's pretty cool I read your post when you did that it's good to know I guess I can buy a digitizer because these things seem to delaminate or something happens to the screen especially down here in the south they start to peel off. I haven't tried replacing them like that yet because there's plenty of these and really great shape that are getting totaled out for cat steals and all kinds of stuff so like the one I have in my car now came out of an 84,000 mile '07 late 07 and the MFD looks brand new. But that sounds like a more serious electronics problem like maybe somebody over on the I don't even know what list but one of those electronic list that works on TVs and displays a lot does that sounds like a problem I've heard of before not the driving part of it but after the thing warms up it sounds like that's what's happening.
