Hi all, I’m new to Priuschat, Half way from Donegal to Dublin on the 30th of December, the car’s MFD went completely white. The volume buttons worked, but attempts to turn off the MFD resulted in it briefly going dark then whiting out again. For about a week after, the MFD worked intermittently (almost exactly every other trip). On the occasions when it was serviceable, turning off the screen resulted in the persistent whiteout previously described. About a week ago the MFD seems to have failed harder, and is whited out on every trip. Dealer hasn’t seen it before but suggested software update (€120). He said a new screen is €1700. Thought I’d reach out to you all before breaking the bank! Anyone experienced this?
My first thought is to pull out the unit and check every connector. My not help but it won’t cost anything, if that doesn’t work I’d try finding another unit from a wrecking yard.
Hi Captqc, Thanks for your reply. I might try it, strangely enough, it came back working tonight for one trip after a 10-day break. I’m also in another forum and was provided with a YouTube link to an MFC removal guide. Thanks again, K
