I entered the oil change information as well as using a custom field to remind me when the warranty is about to expire. It seems as though there is quite a bit of unneccesary "stuff" in here, but is there anything else that is just plain neccessary for optimal use that I should enter in? What date/mileage guidelines should I use?
Whatever you feel you want to be reminded of. Air and cabin filter get changed at 30K. Much of the rest isn't until 100K. You don't have to use the maintenance item for what it is intended. If you want it to remind you to get the dog's shots, or to change the smoke alarm battery, you can. Just remember its new purpose.
