Miantenance required light

    Good morning all. My maintenance required light went on this morning and stayed on. For the last 200 miles or so it would blink for a while but then turn off. I have 9,780 miles on the car. I am guessing that is is just warning me to get the oil changed soon, which I am next Tuesday. Is this correct?

    Since I change oil every 5000 miles and the intervals are easy to remember, I don't bother turning it off.
