So the other night, the car had been off for three hours or so, and I drove it out of the car park in EV mode. As I got down to the road, the battery ran low and so the engine started up, fine. As I sat at the lights though not moving, just listening to the engine, I could hear and feel it misfiring every few seconds. With the engine running at higher speeds than a normal car idling, it sounded a little like a racing car on a starting grid (only quieter, of course ) Anyone else get this? It went away before the lights changed - a minute or two.
Yea, it often happens during warm-up. Kinda like the car is trying to decide if it's adequately warmed up to shut down the ICE. It's not technically misfiring (as in no spark to a specific cylinder), but it does feel that way. In any case, it's 'normal' for the Prius.
