Compare Honda Civic Hybrids vs Toyota Hybrids - Official Site They are comparing a Civic Hybrid to a Prius v when it should be compared to a regular Prius, just to make themselves look good.
Yeah, Honda conveniently forgot to compare cargo room, one of the biggest factors. Pretty stupid they didn't man up and compare against the liftback Prius. Honda hybrids are a non factor anyway. Honda sold a grand total of about 17,000 hybrids (Civic, Insight, CR-Z) in 2012. Toyota sold about 245,000 in Prius family alone. Camry hybrid will mop the floor with a Civic hybrid. Why buy a 110 HP civic hybrid when you can get a 200 HP much larger Camry hybrid for about $2k more? Honda IMA hybrids are toast. They should just phase them out in a few years, bring up the full hybrid tech in Accord, and pretty much copy 4th gen Prius in 3 or 4 years.
Honda is really losing it. They use to be leading edge in small cars... but that was during the last century. They spread the brains too thinly when they expanded Honda by creating the "luxury" Acura brand. Soichiro Honda would be pretty sad if he were still with us.
You can manually select a Prius Liftback, and then the Honda gets it's nice person handed to it in every category that matters. The ones where it does manage to eke out a win are marginal like .2" more legroom in the back seat.
