Hello all. Currently we have a 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid, a 2009 VW Jetta TDI Sportwagen, a Ford F350 dually diesel and I'm looking to get a Prius to add to the stable. One of my main reasons for looking for a Prius is it's capabilities a a generator for the house. I don't know what price range even because I'm waiting to find out what VW is going to do about my Jetta TDI. They may make me turn it in, let me keep it, offer me $10K or $20K. So I might be looking for a $5K Prius or a $25K Prius. But I need to study up on the nomenclature and the things to look for and things to avoid.
Just to clarify, it won't power your house. At the most, it can run a fridge and a light or two but forget a/c (hurricane season), stove, water heater, etc.
