List: Full Synthetic - 0W-20 | O'Reilly Auto Parts Was just at O'Reilly, and saw 3 types of 0w20 oils (two Mobile One, One O'Reilly branded). The non-green Mobile One is labeled "Super Synthetic". The people at the counter explained the O'Reilly brand is just a re-label of the Mobile One (and far cheaper)... Anyone with insight? I ended buying the OReilly ($5/qt)
here is some info: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-prius-main-forum/93433-mobil-super-synthetic-quality.html
Thanks - but it seems the Mobile term "Super Synthetic" is also sold in 5w20 (which is not to my knowledge fully synthetic).....
Super Synthetic = Group III dino Advanced Full Synthetic = mix of PAO and Group III+ (group 3 made out of syngas) Autozone had the deal on Mobil 1 + filter but it has ended.. Advance Autorparts has a deal on Castrol EDGE with Titanium + Bosch distance+ but you don't have AA in CA.
Wow, Mobil took the plunge and is calling non-PAOs "synthetic," now? Thanks Castrole (no "e" on either company).
You should get the Mobil One AFE at Walmart for around $6.50 per quart. Mobil Super Synthetic, it is not Mobil One (has no "One" in the name), but it's still good.
I believe Omni still blends and packages O'Reilly's oil. Who makes O'Reilly's oil | Facebook Omni might or might not use Mobil as a base stock. I have also heard that in the more distant past, O'Reilly has used both Warren and Mobil for their oil.
probably late but wally-mart sells M1 0w20 AFE for less then $4.9/qt: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...walmart-mobil-1-advance-0w20-5qt-24-50-a.html
I'm would be very surprise if the Kragen brand synthetic oil is actually "Mobil 1". Mobil makes a lower version of their Mobil 1 synthetic oil called "Mobil Super Synthetic", probably what this Kragen brand synthetic oil is. Still a good buy.
