We are looking for people who have modded their Prius that would like to come to Hybridfest in Madison, Wisconsin this summer. It'll give you a chance to show off your stuff at the largest gathering of hybrids in the country. We have plenty of minor modifications that will be on display but I'm hoping people with more serious mods plan on coming, too. I know that we have a turbo Insight coming from Florida, a hacked Insight from Connecticut, but so far no one with any serious Prius hacks. (How about someone with CANview, extra battery packs, or even a Coastal mod?) What other kind of Prius mods do people want to see on display? Let me know! Oh, here's a link to the Hybridfest info on Priuschat.
Man, thats right after i move... I'll only be a few hours away, but i'll still be getting everything settled. I'll be there next year, though!
1100 miles of driving, as opposed to a fairly leisurely train ride to NYC to help out with http://www.hopenumbersix.net which I've more or less committed to putting in time on. Believe me, it's really tempting, but I think the prior commitment [and who knows where gas prices will be by then] wins out... . If the modded Insight from FL is the same one that's doing Tour de Sol this year, he apparently lives right near where I was over xmas. I had no idea. . _H*
The drive is a bit too far for me, not enough time. I'd like to though. If the next one is in Florida...
Sorry, Eric. Just the EV button. Though I did have a smugness chip installed. More of a subroutine, actually. I hope to be at the 'fest.
Galaxee, I'm dissapointed you can't make it. Dang! I admire anyone who proudly proclaims their Dairyland roots. We'll put on a great event and make you even more pround of Wisconsin. Hobbit, it's important to keep those commitments! As far as the Insight, yep, it's the same one.

DocVijay, On his public profile he shows Venice, FL. Tony, There will be Prius owners there with different versions of the EV button so it'll be interesting to compare. The latest one is someone who made one himself and if I remember right he doesn't have it mounted on his dash. He also has the VAIS unit installed. I know another guy that's bringing a Civic Hybrid with a custom stereo system. That should be interesting, too.
I was really tempted to go and was just about ready to sign up - I don't mind a long drive in particular if I can get to see a part of the country I haven't seen yet - until I saw the date, which is unfortunately the same day of my best friend's wedding reception and I will be in Chicago that day. Darn!! I hope this Hybridfest will be a resounding success and spawn other events of the same type which I will hopefully be able to attend.
bill- you're not missing much in terms of the drive... kentucky and indiana are definitely not the most exciting states in this country. but wisconsin.... i miss wisconsin!!!!! waaahh! scenic beauty like that just never leaves you.
