A month back someone posted a entry about the modes the PiP can be in. -- Does anyone know where this was? Question.. I was driving home from work yesterday and decided to use the freeway to test what MPG I could obtain for my route. (I've been using surface streets for the past few weeks to maximize EV). On my way home while driving on the freeway, I got my PiP up to speed – 65 mph – using HV, then pressed the EV button to see what would happen. The EV car appeared as an outline, but no filled EV inside. However, the MPGs topped out at 100. What mode is this!?
I don't know the name of the mode, but what is happening is that you were going faster than gear system permits with the gasoline engine stopped (62 mile/hr = 100km/hr), so the engine kicked in. The engine is running very slowly, with the EV battery providing most of the power.
