A modified Honda Insight broke the 100-mile-per-gallon barrier over a 150-mile range during a sustainable-energy and transportation competition being held May 13 through May 16 in Saratoga Springs and Albany, N.Y. The most interesting overall vehicle, organizers said, was the modified Toyota Prius demonstrated by Valence Corp. and EDrive of Monrovia, Calif., which has larger than normal batteries. Tour de Sol
