Modifying remote air-conditioning to also heat??

    I am no tech, so maybe someone can enlighten me.
    Would it be possible to modify the remote air-conditioning so that it could run the heater as well? Is the air-conditioning only setting software based? Is it switchable?

    I would imagine if you had controls set to auto and the temp set to a temp of 80 degrees it would warm the car.
    If i'm wrong someone will chime in.

    I was told by a dealer that it has nothing to do with the temperature setting you have it on in the car. My guess is it is set to only 'full blast cold'

    And the Owner's Manual discussing the remote a/c makes no mention of any temperature settings.

    As far as I know, the heater uses the ICE for heat, while the A/C uses electricity, so I don't think it will work since the remote A/C doesn't start the ICE.

    heater on high does use a small electric element. it is however, ineffective for providing any significant warming.
