I have noticed that the battery pack appears to be discharging faster than it once did. With the car dropping to two bars where you can notice the engine running at the red light and reduced performance. Now, it is bloody hot in Texas so the AC is always blasting and working hard to keep me & the pup from melting. From HybridFest I learned about the ScanGauge, but never was that curious to get one. Looking at their site I don't see that the tool would tell me if one or more of the cells had an issue? I found a reference to a logging tool here, but the web site is dead. I see a Dr. Prius app that looks like it might be a good fit. Any suggestions for a staring point to gather data to see what is happening the hybrid battery pack?
How many miles on your Prius? Sounds like the heat has taken its toll . The Prolong equipment made by Hybrid Automotive is what helps restore the battery performance. Good luck and keep us posted .
I tried entering the XGauges for monitoring the hybrid battery blocks, or cells or whatever. That was no small task: every time I attempt a SG program entry there's this "learning curve". Anyway, I eventually got them all entered, but it didn't seem to be working. I think Dr Prius and a bluetoooth dongle is the way to go. Or Techstream on an old Windows laptop, and the special cable.
I would suggest Hybrid Assistant app if phone is Android. Completely free and offers great logs also.
Thank you everyone for your feedback. I was not aware of the Hybrid Assistant and it is really an interesting app!
