New York Times auto section had another article on the Prius v. Hummer at the Oscars. The following link will take you to it: http://www.nytimes.com/2004/03/07/fashion/...07CARS.html?8dt
Along vaguely similar lines ... There's a scene in an episode of The Simpsons (Homer to the Max) where Homer and his family are going off to chain themselves to a bunch of trees, everyone gets in the bus: Marge: Aren't you coming, Ed? Begley: I prefer a vehicle that doesn't hurt Mother Earth. It's a go-cart, powered by my own sense of self-satisfaction. (Begley attaches a wired-helmet to his head and quickly zips off in his purring car) My point (and this may get this thread moved to OT) is that the Prius will stand the test of time, but only when it is proven to be a great car, not because it's "fashionable."
