I am new to this forum and would like to say hello. I also have a problem with my 2018 Prius level 3. The scan feature on my radio is not working and I am getting lousy reception. It is still under warranty so I brought it to the dealer. They concluded that it was rodent damage some where under the headliner that caused a short circuit. Not covered under warranty and they wanted $516.00 to drop the headliner and see what had to be replaced, all at my expense. I cannot afford to have them fix this, and was hoping to remove the head liner myself to see where the damage might be. Where might I find instructions on removing this headliner? Also, can I buy service manuals for this car so that I can make repairs myself? Thank you in advance, John.
Elektroingenieur put together a really nice wiki page with a lot of options for access to the manuals. Toyota's own site charges $20 for two days of access (which is access to all technical information on the site), but you may also have access under an agreement with your local library or some other service.
Are there any signs of rodents having been in the headliner? There is a service recall about the radio getting static.
The dealer says there is evidence of rodent activity in the headliner. I am subscribing to the service manual for two days so that I can find out how to drop the headliner and find out what is going on for myself.
