Travelled to western Pennsylvania this past week. A number of observations: Outside of any big cities on the East or West Coast forget about finding a place to charge your car. Don't even think about it as I saw in medium-sized towns and communities plug-in what? With snow and ice on the roads and very cold temperatures the MPG for the first time dropped to 49 miles per gallon that's without plugging in. Without plugging in, I would get in the 60 to 65 range and of course one has to use heat for the defrost.
I was under the impression the PHV charged completely in under 3 hours from a 120 volt socket widely used across North America, (NEMA 5-15R) not just in large cities. Does yours not work this way? If you lost yours, Evr-Green Portable Charger, Level 1, EVC11-300 : Portable Charging Cordset
yeah, in "big cities", good luck finding a free charger outside of a garage that charges you an arm and a leg to just park inside. oh, and then some of these things actually charge you money! one garage here costs $3/20 minutes to park AND $1/hr to charge. sure as hell not charging there, lol. your best bet is to find random wall outlets, honestly. just earlier today, found one in a free garage at the local VA hospital. went for a nice stroll while the car charged up.
