My 2013 Prius Engine Died - sell online or to scrap yard?

    My 2013 Prius engine died last week. The engine started ticking and rattling, pulled over and turned it off. Started it and moved slowly off the highway and the engine low low oil pressure light went on and smoke coming up around the car, oil under the car on the ground. Will still start and idle but very rough and low oil pressure waring on immediately.

    Should I sell online to someone for parts or just take to a scrap yard and sell for metal scrap value? Tires are brand new, body panels, wheels etc. Not sure if there is a market for the vehicle?

    There's a mobile mechanic in Oklahoma who will put a gen 4 engine in your gen 3 Prius in your driveway in one day for $1500. The gen 4 doesn't have all the many points of engine failure that Gen 3 engine has and you'll be able to keep driving your Prius for a long, long time once you find a good price on a used Gen4 engine.
