Took my car into the local dealership today for the 5000 mile service. (5k miles in 1 month! Holy cow!) Since Primes are practically unknown in the midwest, everyone in the service department instantly flocked to take a look at the car. They were very impressed by the styling and features. Some of them were taking pictures. Comments included remarks about the headlights and new front fascia, the dual wave rear window, redesigned back end, and 11.5 screen. Everyone agreed the car looks much better than the liftback. At any rate I thought it was fun to see all these people come over to get a good look at the new car.
No. Everyone wanted to know where I got it. One person (perhaps from the sales department?) complained that their own dealership couldn't order any. That complaint may have had its source in my visit early last December when I went there to see if they could get one for me. I explained that I went to Maryland to get it. (It still has the Maryland dealer tag on it.)
maybe yo lit a fire with that visit. ps, when i saw your header, for a second, i thought it said 'my prime was hit at the dealership'.
Well, if my prime was hit at the dealership, it would mean I actually had one... Cool story though. Thanks! I'll join the club sooner or later....
OMG, I saw the same thing! I think it's one of those sentences where your eyes skip to the more interesting word which was "hit" and not "a".
Ditto. I thought "oh no, not another expensive repair" lol. Ahh, the human brain. Anyway, that's pretty cool!
See, it would catch on if dealerships would just get one. They have a "hit" on their hands and don't know it. 5000 in one month??? Show off. LOL
Not something I am pleased with, but whatcha gonna do? 450 miles from Maryland where I bought the car to home. Then a 2500 mile trip to Texas and back. 500 miles a week for normal use. It adds up, unfortunately. OTOH, why else would I buy such an expensive car if I wasn't going to use it very much?
Indeed the entire point of buying a car is to drive it! A large part of my reason to get a Prime (probably arriving 1 March or so) is that: Starting 1/2016, I've had a commute of >20 miles each way (and yes, we do have chargers at work, so on the P.Prime it should be mostly EV), and Our 2009 Prius is up to 125Kmiles, and my wife, just now getting her license, almost certainly won't be putting any where near 40-some-odd miles per day on it. That is, if I were to have kept driving our 2009 Prius, I'd pretty nearly clobber it entirely in another year or two. It'll probably last 5 more years in her hands. Still, regarding your 250-mile trip home the first time, typically/historically, there's a break-in period for new cars, right?
