It would be just great if Toyota could figure out how to create a 'supplemental' battery pack that could be put in/taken out and chargeable from a common extension cord, so that we could run our Prius say 10 or 15 miles on battery only. This 'pack' could perhaps plug into the other onboard batteries and create the additional power to accomplish this! Almost all my driving is short trips and I am fortunate to be able to park in a garage with electric outlets. Anybody from the factory read these 'blogs'?
No, these blogs are in English, not Japanese. There are a number of aftermarket kits that approximate what you want. some of us have 'thrown together' just this type of system. it's cheap and easy if you have the know how. i don't think toyota could do it as well.
