Just a thought but do certain countries suffer more with oil burning than other countries for the same vehicle. The reason I ask is when doing a bit of research on why recommended oil changes seam to be a lot more frequent in the USA compared to Europe. It seems that the USA has a lower quality of fuel compared to Europe and this alone dictates the oil change must be done more frequently, will this have some bearing on oil burning I don't know but maybe it will due to dilution. Standard oil changes on prius is recommended at 10,000 miles in the UK. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Our fuel is good. I've never heard that it was inferior or lower quality. My 4th generation (2016) specifies oil changes at 10,000 miles.
Diesel is cleaner in Europe, well less parts of sulpher per 1,000,000 than the US, and the US is now using ultra low sulphur standards, gas wise, no info available, but Toyota now has Prius oil changes scheduled every 10,000 miles, what info do you have about gas qualities in Europe vs the US?
(beware - humor ahead) fuel !! - it's sooo good, better than sunshine, mountain air & children's laughter ... it's like Ponce de Leon's Fountain of Youth. you can bathe in it, gargle with it, i even pour it over my Cheerios .... quick start your BBQ, marinate your chicken, clean household appliances - it may prove to be a cure for lung cancer - so good! is it any wonder we fight wars over it ?!? .... not that coal & coal mining isn't up there. This has been a public service announcement from BP, the Koch brothers & Exxon.
can you link any of your findings? they seem to contradict reality. as for which countries burn more oil, i doubt anyone is collecting data
