So, with the navigation on freeway (display exits) mode, I no longer see the exit names, just the exit numbers. I may have accidentally turned off the names, but I swear I remember them being there before and now, for the life of me, I can't seem to get them back. It's pretty useless having exit numbers here in LA, the exits are often marked by name only... If anyone could help me turn the names back on, I'd be greatly appreciative. Also, for what it's worth, the NAV manual says nothing on the topic. Thanks!
Well, I thought I'd come back and post here because it turns out that there is in fact a problem with my Nav system... I've had the head unit replaced, I've brought the car in repeatedly and been told there is nothing wrong with it (despite having pictures that prove there is a problem), and here I am nearly seven months later and this issue still has not been resolved... I see that others on this board are having this problem too (well, at least one other person) and tomorrow I've got an engineer from Toyota Corp coming to take a look at the car. Please do chime in if you've had this problem too; I'd like to know if I am alone on this and if this is associated with the other problem I'm having... seriously crappy XM radio reception (with static?!)-- hopefully that will get resolved tomorrow as well. Anyone else out there having these issues, I'd love to know!
I also have terrible FM and XM reception. The NAV address base is highly flawed as well, and there is a 10 second delay with an incoming call before I can talk over the bluetooth. Oh, and the NAV system, when inputting an address, is very, very slow. All in all, a piece of crap.
I've got to start a new thread with a photo to get the general consensus on this, but Toyota says that my jacked-up nav is functioning properly. What a load of crap.
There is NOT a hardware problem! Replacing the Nav unit won't have any effect! This is simply the way those exits are listed in the map database on the DVD. Every Prius in the US will list those exits in exactly the same way (at least the ones with the same version of the map DVD).
Easily the worst nav since my 2004 Lincoln Aviator. While not voice-controlled, I'd take the systems in my 1999 and 2003 Acura TL's over this one every time. HUGE disappointment.
