Hi All, Ok, since I went in for a "free" Oil Change Navigation does not go into nightime mode (dark colored background). What did they mess up to get me back in there to charge Toyota (waranty?) to get fixed?
Check the dimmer dial (on the left side of the dash to the left of the steering column), make sure it is not clicked up so when you turn your headlights on the dash lights don't dim. That will keep the nav in day mode. You can also click the display button on the lower right of the nav (a physical button, not a screen button) I think it brings up an option for day night mode on the display.
My guess is a "full up" dimmer switch. I doubt someone at the dealer is going to poke around changing settings just for the owner to return & complain. I suspect the original mechanic would have to eat the time to fix the problem.
Hi All, Yep, that was it. The guy must have turned the dimmer wheel all the way up to see what he was doing to reset the maintenance required warning. Thanks !
