Every time I get in my Prius and start driving, my car tries connecting to maps on my Samsung phone. I keep hearing a little ding the whole time I'm in the car. I press clear message on my phone, and it starts dinging again. Why would a car with navigation built in need to sync up with maps on a phone? And if I allow this to happen, what kind of effect will it have on my phones data plan? Thanks in advance Dave
It syncs with maps on your phone for traffic... not the maps itself. If you turn your phone off, it will still run the maps just fine.
