I took apart the shifter section and want to run a few white LEDs to light up under the center console. I was hoping someone would know which wire to pull the 12v from. I'd just hook up a voltage meter but the car doesn't like it when you turn it on with those plugs undone. I assume I can ground it anywhere to the car body like a regular car.
I stole one of the wire from the 12v in the dash, next to the heated switch, for my Valentine One. I don't recall which color... If I do I will PM you.
Looking into it more I figured out the white plug was for the park button which is the one that the car freaks out about if it's disconnected when you turn on the car. I ended up using a meter and found a green wire on the black plug that had 12v when the lights were on and tapped off of that. For ground I just attached it to a small screw holding part of the trim on. It works great.
Please share with pictures if you could. I have been thinking about doing the very same thing but haven't put the time into finding with wires to tap. What lights did you use to light up the console?
Now that I know how to take the trim off it will be easy to get a pic. I'll try to remember to post one later today. The light I used was just a single bright white LED for 12v. I found a 4 pack at Autozone for $10. It was a little more than I wanted to pay for an LED but I did get 4 and when I took a close look at the picture in the top right corner I just knew it was a sign.... There is a small hole in the trim under the shifter already and I just ran the wire up through that. I have not had a chance to see it at night yet.
