The bummer is I just got this Car and I only put less then 5000 miles on it before the engine went bad ...this was a used car I purchased as is with no warranty and I believe I got taken to the Bank $$$$!!!! My 2004 Prius was just totalled in Santa Cruz due to suspension damage, but the engine is fine. Not sure if I can take the engine out per insurance company, but I can check. Reply if you are interested.
Good call. Sounds like it had the all to common oil consumption issue and it just got driven until dry. Can you give us more details of how the engine died 97xr100. Was it oil consumption related?
