I have a 2010 Prius with 55,000 miles. It is time to get new tires and I am looking at the Hankook Optimo H727 and the Continental ProContact ECOPLUS+. I have read good things about these tires and they are in my price range ($90-95/ea). Since I drive so much for work, my two main objectives are to get a tire that is super safe and continues to support my good gas mileage (computer says 55mpg...). Any suggestions or experience with these two options? Any other recommendations? Thanks!
Take a look at the Nokia Entyre, which is a very Low Rolling Resistance tire with a estimated 80,000 miles tread life. I currently have Michelin Energy Saver Tires, 195x65x15, for the last 41,000 miles. These will probably be a 55,000 thru 60,000 tread life tire. These tires gave me an extra 2-3 mpg over the Yokohama Avid factory tires that came with the Prius. alfon
Unfortunately the enTYRE is out of her price range although they may last long enough that she would save money in the long run. Tough to say for sure. The Continental ProContact with eco plus is a pretty good tire with a very high treadwear rating. It is also a LRR tire where the 727 is not really classified as such but people seem to like them a lot. The Goodyear Fuel Max also sports a high treadwear rating. http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...esistance-replacement-tires-current-list.html
