    Hello Guys,

I love this site. I recieved some good info on my last post and I do appreciate all the help. I have just taken possession of a 2011 Prius III (yeah). I was wondering if the JBL system is the same Head unit as in the II or is the Head unit and speakers JBL?

My main issue is I now have to install the hand controls for me so I can drive. I, first off need to remove the Knee Airbag under the steering column so that I can put a 3K ohm resistor in place of where the airbag plugs in.
    1) Could someone explain to me what procedure I need to go through to accomplish this?
Where are the clips on the panel so I don't break them? Where is the 12 Volt battery and how should I disconnect it so I don't mess anything up? How do I disconnect the airbag and where should I connect the 3K ohm resistor? Can I just bend a resistor and plug it in and it stay or do I need to solder the resistor to something to get it to work properly and stay plugged in?

    2) I normally bolt the hand controls to the bolts for the steering column in a regular vehicle. We all know the Prius is NO regular Vehicle. Can I access the bolts to the steering column or is there other items I have to move to get to them? Or does it have a different way that it connects?

These are the main issues that I can think of now before I get started. This car may have other issues that I am not familiar with but someone who knows the car is. So that is why I could use a heads up on any thing before I start this job. I would like to have everything in place before I start to do this. I appreciate and thank you for any advice you may have for me. It is great having a site like this to refer to.

    Craig

I would strongly suggest that you work with the service dept at the dealership.
Disabling airbags may have implications that are beyond the ken of many here.
