My original tires from my Prius v are about worn out after about 30,000 miles. These tires were OK- not great. Had 1 blowout, they seem noisy to me and only got the 30K miles. Looking for some better tires. By better tires I mean quieter, more durable, better handling and more expected mileage. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
My factory Bridgestones are wearing decent. I will probably get 70k miles on them. Then I will probably get a set of Michelin Energy Savers A/S. Michelin Energy Saver A/S Review | PriusChat
I'd go with the Michelin Energy Savers A/S. My Toyo's Proxes A20 seem fine now, but I only have 7k miles on them and they're expensive to replace.
"Tire Rack" is a good resource....you are somewhat limited on 17" LLR tires in your size....They have ratings on most of the qualities you are looking for.....
I didn't wait, I replaced the Toyo tires immediately with Michelin Energy Saver A/S. My MPG went from 43 to 48, less noise and better handling too. Not easy to find though, in the right size.
I put Michelin Primacy MXV4 on my old Camry Hybrid and loved them. Quiet, no squeals, excellent tread for summer rains and winter snows. I have had Dunlops, good cheap tire for 10k miles or to sell a car on, but never stay that way after 10k miles. Wobble, squeal, etc.
