I made this title to get your attention:

During my normal Toyota Care 20,000 mile service. I was asked by the service writer if I would be willing to get new pads on the front for FREE. Now this is a now brainier......seems that Toyota wants to check some pads for wear, see if they are living up to standards. So, I get a free oil change, with the filter, rotate the wheels plus new front pads.

Do I like this car or not........Yup sure do.:cheer2::cheer2:

That is good that they are replacing the pads for free. Have always read on here that the brake pads last well beyond normal cars. Almost would make me think they are looking for something. That or Toyota is just being very proactive. Prius certaintly is an awesome car though.

That's great, now you'll get another 20K out of those pads. Nice

It's funny that you mention this, because I was at the dealer for my 10k service about a week ago and a service advisor was walking from desk to desk, asking anyone if they had a 2010 Prius that they could have the front pads from to send into Toyota. I guess this is a widespread field study of some sort?

Since my 2004 at 206.000 miles still has 50% life left for the front pads, 20k is a don't care as the pads are practically unused at that point.

Toyota are probably not selling enough so are going to go for softer pads that wear out quicker.
