I bought my first ever Prius in mid July. It was a used 2018 four. Not sure if it is the touring model as it has the 11.6" infotainment touch screen and all the safety sense features but does not have the 17" rims nor fog lights. (Backstory: My 2006 Scion tc engine died at 168k miles and I needed a vehicle for work. I have a 70 mile commute for work so I wanted something that was reliable and economical, hence the Prius). After signing the paperwork for the purchase I waited for a very long time for the vehicle to be detailed. I was so tired of waiting after I finally got it, I drove home without fully inspecting the vehicle. The interior was spotless and smelled very nice. When I got home my wife said, "They could have washed it first." I drove the car for 5 days to and from work and was then bed ridden because I caught the coronavirus and had to quarantine myself. After feeling better, two months after contracting the virus, I decided I wanted to give my new Prius a nice hand wash. That was when I noticed how dirty the car was. There was mud and dirt in all the crevices of the car. I took the pictures seen in post and sent it to the salesman that sold me the car. I asked him to have the car properly detailed because it was not done correctly initially. He showed his manager the photos and the manager told him that I waited too long to request the cleaning. Even after explaining that I I could not have done it sooner because I was ill with the coronavirus, they still said NO. I think that is unacceptable and I should have pressed the matter further. I am very disappointed with the dealership. That being said, I LOVE my Prius and am pleased with the amount of gas I save each time I drive it. I try to get better with each trip (73.8 might is my best thus far). I love the way the car handles and glides when I am on the road. It has totally changed my driving habits. I used to be very aggressive before my Prius, now I sit back and enjoy the drive. I also enjoy this forum, reading all the threads of my fellow Prius owners. If anyone knows a place or person in North Georgia that does car detailing well, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
Congratulations! Glad you're over the virus and finally able to enjoy your new-to-you car. As for being dirty, it was just gonna get dirty again. I wouldn't fret about it. There are way bigger issues in life. Just have fun, count your blessings, and keep the rubber side down.
I have my first Prius and it changed my driving habits too. Just sit back and enjoy driving as you said. Now I see more crazy drivers. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Welcome and congrats. Sorry to hear about your health issues and glad you are ok. I once in a while have to use a towel after washing mine and hit all the crevices they seem to have forgotten to clean as shown in your pics, I wouldn't sweat it as its annoying but not that huge of a deal. Welcome to the group and happy commuting. Sad that your Tc died so young.
