I have a 2012 Toyota Prius with JBL and Premium HDD Nav. I bought this android unit https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001275083852.html and have some question about OEM backup camera retention on my 2012 Prius with JBL and NAV. As far as I know, the Prius camera needs 6v input instead of 12v. The seller says it will come with all the harness to do the plug and play connection and a canbus but I am not sure about is do those harness also down volt to 6v for the oem camera? I am assuming the seller will include canbus and harness similar to https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002749403525.html I tried asking the seller about voltages but due to language difference didn't get any clear answer they just say the canbus will retain all functionality. I just don't want to plug in the oem cam to the new head unit and blow up the cam. When I receive the unit and cables is there a way to know by looking at them if it will auto down volt or not? Anyone else that has ordered similar units with canbus and harness able to shed some light on it if it just works with oem camera or need to add a down volt manually somewhere? Thanks.
I wish that was the case for me. I ordered a different one on AliExpress, and it turned out to be a completely different wiring harness for JBL and back up camera… Unusable.

Seller initially sent me wrong one as well though he sent me correct one later I also ended up ordering and using https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002749403525.html instead as people with 2012 jbl prius had confirmed this one would work and it did. On diag2 the reversing image was actually on the opposite side not the one it shows.

Yeah, the seller told me that it was pretty much plug-and-play for my car. I have a 2013 Prius with a back up camera and JBL sound system. They were supposed to send a package that had JBL and camera support… But for some reason the wiring didn’t connect properly
I had the same issue even my seller sent incorrect wiring initially. It didnt matter much cause I also ordered the wire set I linked above. My seller did eventually send the right one later but I am not using it.
The problem with this is that mine is the media tech 8667 android unit, and not all harnesses are designed for disport I guess. Can you take a look at the back of my unit, pictures uploaded earlier. Please let me know if that looks like what you have.
Your's looks different. My power port has 16 pins on the new head unit but yours seems to be 20 pin power connector.
Otherwise from the picture it looks like its using same firmware as mine. I had the same home screen as in your picture and my device is also MTK8667
I would suggest looking at aliexpress for a 20 pin power harness that would match the wiring diagram they gave. Thats how I found mine.
I’ve been searching everywhere that I can think of for a 20 pin connector with at least eight connecting plugs I can’t find a single one. Any help with that would be appreciated
It looks like a 20 pin version of the 2013 Prius wiring does not exist… The shipper is telling me their engineer will make one special for my unit. I hope that works out OK lol.
