Check this out: Texas $2,500 Rebate Finally Set To Go Live! Texas Starts $2,500 Plug-In Incentive, Tesla Model S Not Eligible Article seems to say TX getting a $2500 PiP incentive, which would be the best monetary incentive going at the moment. Massachusetts also adding a PiP incentive this summer. This is exciting news as last year 2013 was all about less PiP incentives. Another thread, I had made a joke about TX being the next PiP roll-out state, but maybe it's not a joke? Or maybe we need Dianne to ship some of her excess PiP's to a Texas dealer (must be bought from dealer certified to sell cars in TX).
The Texas auto dealer lobby is getting their money's worth from the state legislators they bought. The article states that the Tesla is not eligible due to a requirement that a car must be sold through a Texas new car dealer. Tesla, with their direct-to-user sales model, need not apply.
hmm....no Texans interested in PiPs? Toyota has some PR work to do in TX! I hear the Calfornia voices re: Tesla...yes SCOTUS rule will be interesting...when is that do we know?
This,HAS to do with Toyota moving its headquarters to Texas because of the sweetheart deal they got.....I am only guessing of course.....
It will probably be a few years before it jumps from state courts to federal courts and then the appeals process.
I'm very interested in a PiP as my next vehicle and this Texas rebate is great news! Are there any dealers in Texas that even have the PiP in stock? Or would I be left with purchasing the PiP from someone like Dianne at Carson? Would I still be eligible for the rebate? iPhone ?
You must purchase from Texas certified dealer, which I presume Dianne is not, but ask her. I know we've had some cases where PiP's were transferred to other dealers in other states, but the price was generally lousy - but with Toyota moving to TX, one might expect a not-so-random-act-of-kindness from Toyota, as far as making sure TX buyers can get the nifty discount deals.
YES; for the first 2,000 electric cars sold in that year. Texas is not known for rebates ...... Since more of Toyota is coming to Texas; I would say that has something to do with it? It would be nice if Texas would go GREEN?
I want to see a picture of a real Texas cowboy (with hat and boots) coming out of a Prius. As per Massachusetts - the state went retrograde. From being a innovator in technology (for a short time) to becoming "Taxachussetts again.
Okey dokey. So does anyone know when the Texas dealerships will get the PiP? And more specifically, do we know WHICH dealerships will get them? Any recommendations? I remember reading a thread about a McKinney dealer that was very friendly and had decent pricing. iPhone ?
In another recent thread, user CharlesH said he saw some dealer ads for PiPs for sale in TX. You might send him a message. So the Plugin is only available in California? | Page 2 | PriusChat
While I am a Texan by birth, I have not lived there since 1978. I just did a Google search for Texas Toyota Prius Plug-In and got hits on the web pages of several Texas Toyota dealers advertising the Plug-In.
