Just purchased a 2008 Prius and absolutely LOVING this vehicle. I can hardly wait until we have to fill up the tank and calculate the kilometers per litre. I feel the need to start learning more about this vehicle so here I am
:welcome: I used to live in a town known as "the first K-Mart south of the border' A great read for you may be: http://john1701a.com/prius/prius-userguide_iconic.htm
Thank you ... lol, I am sorry to say I do not know the name of that town you refer to. I have downloaded that information. The perfect time to read the manual seems to be while I am waiting for kidlet to get out of school ...
:welcome: There are a great number of Prius in BC, I've noticed, whenever I've been privileged to be there. There are some great Prius owners, too! This is the best place to learn about your new Prius. If you can't find it, ask, and someone will answer.
I am replying to "all" by replying to myself, as I do not see an reply "all" function (this early in the morning). Anway, I am taking the little guy to the shop today because the two times we have had to fill up since getting this vehicle it is extremely difficult to fill with gas! Not sure what is up with that! Otherwise, I am really loving the fuel efficiency! When driving "nowhere" with kids to give them driving experience, it sure is helpful!
Good morning! When I put the nozzle into the tank and I squeeze the "trigger" the trigger constantly shuts off as if the tank were full. Annoying. Also, I have a little "buzzing" noise that is becoming more frequent, not like a rattlesnake noise but ... something a long that line, that is not consistent with anything in particular.
Morning. I'd suggest not squeezing the trigger so hard, so that gas flows more slowly. And don't try to overfill it or round off the dollar amount - you'll only end up with gas all over the place. Not sure about the buzzing - the regenerative brakes make a distinctive sound, but it's not constant.
Try a different gas pump. I have a couple of pumps that I consistently don't use, as they give me this same issue. It has something to do with the size/placement of the vent holes, I think.
Yes, there are a many many Prius' here ... and now that I drive one I certainly understand why: great gas mileage!
